HUNTJENS Sebastiaan: Project Manager at The D-Lab

Within the D-lab Sebastiaan is responsible for the project management of the Horizon 2020 Initial Training Network PREDICT. Furthermore he is involved in continuous grant writing, exploring new funding opportunities and oversee possibilities for knowledge transfer from science to market.
Next to this Sebastiaan holds a position at the company Health Innovation Ventures as business development manager and in this position is involved in the further development of several life science companies:
Following high school he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Imaging. He held a position as radiological worker for several years. In 1998 he engaged a position as radiological worker at the University Hospital Maastricht. In 2002 he became managing director of GROW. In 2005 he received his master degree in Health Care Policy and Administration at the University of Maastricht. Between September 2006 and June 2010 Sebastiaan Huntjens was appointed as advisor technology transfer at the Contract Research Centre for Maastricht University. Starting June 2010 Sebastiaan worked as manager for The Maastricht Forensic Institute (TMFI). In August 2013 Sebastiaan took on the position of general director of the company. Between 2010 and 2015 TMFI has grown to an established forensic institute in The Netherlands. Starting August 2015 Sebastiaan moved on to a new challenge by changing positions to Koenen and Co Grants Advisors. Working with new innovative companies, scientists and entrepreneurs in a diverse range of fields.
From January 2016 until March 2018 Sebastiaan headed the Grants Advisory department, with a dedicated team of funding acquisition experts and the broad expertise of the full service financial company Koenen en Co.
