SUMMARY: Relinde Lieverse has an education in Biomedical Sciences (Bachelor of Science, Maastricht University, The Netherlands) and Medicine (Bachelor and Master of Science, Maastricht University, The Netherlands). At a young age, her interest in the combination of technology and medicine was noticeable. She was a junior advisor for Jet-Net Brainport Eindhoven, nominated for the best high school project of the Netherlands by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) and visiting exploring days organised by Philips Healthcare and Eindhoven University of Technology.
In 2010 she started with her study Biomedical Sciences (BS) with speciality Biological Health Sciences. During her second year BS, she also started her second study Medicine. For her bachelor thesis, she worked on functional radiation effects in healthy lung tissue described in preclinical studies and was graded with an 8.7 out of 10. During her medical internships, she worked in multiple disciplines, e.g. oncology, haematology, radiotherapy, pulmonology, gynaecology, internal medicine, etc. She worked during her master as a student researcher and later for her research internship at Maastro-Clinic Maastricht on the subject Bioluminescence imaging (BLI) for target therapy in a pre-clinical setting, this was graded with “excellence”.
At the moment she works as a PhD-student for Maastricht University, managing together with a fantastic team an 6 million euro H2020 funded international multi-centre phase 2 clinical trial called “ImmunoSABR” and preclinical related projects.
