SUMMARY: Janita van Timmeren studied Medical Natural Sciences at the VU University in Amsterdam, from 2010 till 2015. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2013 (cum laude) with a minor in Biomedical Imaging and a Bachelor thesis about electron film dosimetry at the department of Radiotherapy of VU Medical Center. In 2015, she obtained her Master’s degree (cum laude) of the master track ‘Medical Physics’, with a Master thesis about measuring ejection fraction using Oxygen-15 gated PET, performed at the department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of VU Medical Center. During the Master, she also visited Ireland for an internship of 5 months at the radiotherapy department of Galway University Hospital. In 2015, she started her PhD at Maastricht University, focusing on radiomics and personalized medicine. She is currently investigating the potential of using cone-beam CT images to extract longitudinal radiomics information for non-small cell lung cancer patients.
