DE JONG Evelyn: Master of Science (Medical Engineering) 2014, Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. PhD candidate, University of Maastricht, the Netherlands
Date of birth: 1987, Smallingerland, the Netherlands
SUMMARY: After two and half years of the bachelor “Medisch Beeldvormende en Radiotherapeutische Technieken” (Hanzehogeschool Groningen), Evelyn switched to the bachelor Applied Physics (Saxion Hogescholen Enschede), which she finished in 2011 (Bachelor of Engineering). During the bachelor she did three internships in the oncology field (RISO Deventer, KVI Groningen, UT Enschede). In 2011, Evelyn started the premaster of Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology. In 2014, she finished the master Medical Engineering at the same University (Master of Science). During her master, she did an internship at MAASTRO Clinic, in which she investigated the effect of different tissue modeling schemes on the dose distribution in low energy breast brachytherapy. For her master thesis, she investigated small field dosimetry in a magnetic field, at the radiotherapy department of the University Medical Center Utrecht. After her master, she started a PhD position for the University of Maastricht, in which she investigated image biomarkers for prognosis in stage IV non-small lung cancer patients. She expects to finish her PhD in the beginning of 2019 and started recently as a medical physicist in training at the Catharina hospital in Eindhoven.
Evelyn has experience and knowledge in the field of oncology, radiotherapy, medical imaging and prognostic modeling.
